It seems you can’t keep a good thing down or, in this case, up.
Plypac Industries are looking to replicate the popularity of their Kiwisoft Toilet Tissue 12-pack line in 4-and 6-packs, a move which will introduce a proven leader into the smaller pack section of the economy toilet tissue market.
Plypac’s Marketing Manager, Virginia Nicholls, cites the overriding popularity of the 12-pack and positive consumer perception as the reasoning behind the initiative.
"We launched the 12-pack initially to the North Island, in November 1998, and almost immediately we had a huge success on our hands. From the first year the Kiwisoft 12-pack was the fourth most popular in New Zealand, and today Kiwisoft still holds that ranking at total key accounts*."
Nicholls says consumer research indicates Kiwisoft wins on design, co-ordination with the bathroom, pack design — which includes dinky kiwi graphics — strength and, of course, softness.
The new range launches in May when Cottonsoft will also be running a "Pamper Yourself in Paradise with Cottonsoft" sash on all Cottonsoft toilet tissue and paper towel packs.
